Hi there, it’s Marie!
I’m all about houses — building them up, fixing them, and finding clever, budget-friendly ways to make every space feel like home. I love discovering smart solutions that make a big impact without breaking the bank.
The journey isn’t always easy, but with hard work, creativity, and consistency, I’ve learned that the results are always worth it.
My goal is simple:
to inspire and motivate everyday women to take matters into their own hands and DIY their way to a home they truly love. No need to spend a fortune on contractors or designers — with the right tools, tips, and a little confidence, you can do amazing things yourself.
Where I come from
I grew up in Germany and have a background in chemical engineering, which gave me incredible opportunities to study, work, and travel internationally.
In 2013, I relocated to Houston, Texas for a career opportunity with a chemical company — and it’s been home ever since.
That’s also where I met my husband, Isaac. Today, we’re a family of five, including our two pups, Meeko and Heyla, and rescue cat Tux😉.
My DIY Journey
I’ve always had a deep passion for homes — from house hunting and moving to simply browsing listings for fun. The idea of a fresh start in a new space excites me because it’s a chance to create something even better.
In 2018, I finally became a first-time homeowner. The house was old and needed a full remodel. After getting quotes from contractors, we decided to take on the challenge ourselves.
From demolition to plumbing to design, we did it all — while working full time!
It was tough but incredibly rewarding.
Three years later, equipped with tools, experience, and a newfound love for DIY, we took on our next big adventure: turning a basic, new builder-grade home into a space that truly reflects who we are.
